Marshmallow Leaf is a soothing demulcent and astringent herb which helps to coat, protect and tone irritated tissues. Marshmallow leaf is slightly less mucilaginous than the root but offers additional benefits due to its mild expectorant, diuretic and astringent properties. It’s frequently used in herbal teas or smoking blends to support respiratory health - helping to ease dry, tickly coughs, bronchitis, and irritation from smoke or allergens. The leaf also has a cooling, soothing effect on the urinary tract, making it helpful for urinary tract infections, cystitis, or irritated bladder conditions.
