Lemon Balm

Lemon balm is a common garden herb with a pleasing flavour, and is gentle enough for children. It is useful for colds and flus, as it calms the body, is antiviral and helps sweat out a fever. It can help settle an upset stomach and dispel gas. Lemon balm makes a soothing tea for nervous tension, anxiety and depression. Recently it has been found to be very effective in treating symptoms of herpes simplex, when used topically as an ointment, wash or poultice of fresh leaves.
